Computers are incredibly useful machines, but thy can often be very fragile. If you’ve been having computer issues lately, give these three basic IT tips a try before you try and haul your computer down to the repair depot. Take a moment to save yourself some time and money!
Program Overload
Not every program that comes installed on your machine is complete essential. Computer companies often load trial versions of their programs onto new computer to encourage you to spend more money with them or their software partners. At the very least, these programs are taking up space on your hard drive; at worst they will slow your system down when they look for updates. This IT tip is easy: Try removing duplicate programs or programs that you haven’t used in a long while.
Display Driver Issues
Computer systems that have a lot of programs installed on them will occasionally have issues with corrupted or outdated drivers. This IT tip provided the solution: update your display drivers. Simply go into Windows Update and look for “Graphics Driver” under optional hardware updates. Go ahead and update your driver. If you’re more tech savvy, go to the website for your graphics card ((Nvidia GeForce), (Intel) or (AMD Radeon)), and install the correct driver for your graphics card.
Long Load Times
Outdated programs will have bugs which may slow down your computer’s processing speed, or have a security leak. This basic IT tip is simple: always update your programs. Check to see if there are updates in the program’s help section, or if it’s a program you got from the Windows or Mac App store, check there for updates.
